“A story of strength and power” is a metaphor for the fall of communism and of dictatorships in general. In a doctor’s waiting room on a sweltering summer day, the window is shut. The people are dripping with sweat, but everyone is afraid to open the window. They are held back by the authoritative look of an old man in a three-piece suit, reading the newspaper Svobodné slovo (Free Word), who clearly does not feel the heat. Then a child walks into the waiting room…
